Police: Man filmed student dressing in locker room during Chelmsford wrestling match

A Waltham man is facing child pornography charges after allegedly filming a youth dressing in a locker room during a high school wrestling match in Chelmsford Saturday, police said.

Officers responding to Chelmsford High School at 4:15 p.m. for reports of a person filming in the locker room during a wrestling meet found a man being detained by coaches, police said. The man had allegedly used his cell phone to film a boy who was dressing in the locker room, and police confiscated several cameras and laptops in the man’s car.

Police said they do not believe the man had any connection to the wrestling event other than as a spectator.

David Menard, 54, was charged with possession of child pornography and videotaping a nude person for a felony. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
