Watch Live: Health officials declare local health emergency due to coronavirus

SAN DIEGO (CNS) — San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency officials and representatives of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local hospital officials were expected to provide an update on COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, Friday afternoon.

Speaking will be Wilma Wooten, county public health officer; Eric McDonald, medical director of the county’s Epidemiology and Immunization Branch; Nick Yphantides, county chief medical officer; Jennifer Erin Staples, medical epidemiologist for the Division of Vector-borne Diseases for the CDC; Patty Maysent, CEO of UC San Diego Health; and county Supervisor Nathan Fletcher.
